CD Descriptions

(REC-001) DIATRIBE "NOTHING" [CDS] :

This San Jose pack of wirewolves unload four songs with chunky guitars, heavy percussion, powerful electronics, and distinct

throatwork. Although Lee Popa and SKINNY PUPPY's Ogre took part in the production process, DIATRIBE's self-produced track showcases their own capable studio skills. Four songs are on this single. DIATRIBE also has an EP available on COP INT'LNTROL, NAUTILUS, KOMAKINO, PORNOTANZ, BLIND VISION and Y-DECIBEL. This was compiled by Zoth's Talla 2XLC.

(REC-002) LEÆTHER STRIP "PENETRATE THE SATANIC CITIZEN" [CD] :

Due to LEÆTHER STRIP's overseas popularity and prolific career, we felt it would be nice to introduce North America to their high-speed synthrage. This "best of" CD features snarling guitar-less club tracks taken from most of their singles and albums prior to 1993. This CD is not among those released by Cleopatra.

(REC-003) TECHNOTIC EFFECT *VARIOUS ARTISTS* [CD] :

When we licensed LEÆTHER STRIP from Zoth Ommog, it was stipulated that we release this compilation as well. This disc features exclusive remixes of popular industrial-fueled, techno-dance tracks by A-HEAD, X MARKS THE PEDWALK, TRANCEFORMER, U-TEK, NEGROSEX, SHIFT, NOISE CO

Rather than treading water in the lake of speed metal-driven MINISTRY clones, 16 VOLT pioneered the melding of garage-influenced guitar riffs with militant sequencing, brutal club-friendly percussion and Eric's distinct raspy croon. David Ogilvie (SKINNY PUPPY, DROWN, DINK, NIN) and Fluffy (MINISTRY, ARMAGEDDON DILDOES, TESTIFY) split the production work, but they only enhanced 16 VOLT's sound, rather than altering it. Wisdom & Skin are licensed overseas to Offbeat (FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY's label!)

(REC-004) 16 VOLT "WISDOM" [CD]:

as well as compilation appearances on THE CYBERFLESH CONSPIRACY (IIM), SHUT UP KITTY (RE-CONSTRICTION), FUNKY ALTERNATIVES #7 (CONCRETE), 4FROM THE MACHINE (INDEX).

(REC-005) NUMB "DEATH ON THE INSTALLMENT PLAN" [CASS, CD] :

These old school Vancouver-bred synthpunk veterans combine lurching club beats, anger-driven vocals, eerie samples, rhythmic noise and soundscraping guitar stabs on their 3rd CD. Their self-titled debut and WASTED SKY were released by Kk, but METROPOLIS licensed WASTED SKY for the U.S. CHRISTMEISTER, their second CD, was released on Onslot, but it is a very difficult CD to locate...they're working on re-releasing this!!

(REC-006) CLAY PEOPLE "FIRETRIBE" [CD] :

An Albany, NY-based tribe of gloomy guitar-bloated techno thugs who juxtapose thick riffwork with a stark melothic vocalist, subtle sample augmentation, and a cyber foundation. Prior to FIRETRIBE they released an EP called TOYBOX.

(REC-008) VAMPIRE RODENTS "LULLABYLAND [CD] :

On their 3rd CD, the RODENTS walk the line between dance & experimental music by combining cellos, violins, guitars and a load of exotic instruments with samples, sequences, and a singing/ranting vocalist. Members of CHEMLAB & BABYLAND provide guest vocals on a track or two. If you've never heard the RODENTS, check out their Clockseed CD first. Write for info on how to obtain their earlier CD's (Premonition & War Music).

(REC-009) SHUT UP KITTY *VARIOUS ARTISTS* [CD]:

This is the FIRST compilation ever that features all digicore bands performing cover songs. KMFDM interprets U2's Mysterious Ways, while SKREW, DIATRIBE, XORCIST, 16 VOLT, BLUE EYED CHRIST, NON-AGGRESSION PACT, BABYLAND, VIRUS 23, DEATH METHOD, CLAY PEOPLE, D.D.T., APOLITIQ, SOCIETY BURNING, FLESHHOUSE, and MARTYR COLONY.

(REC-010) NON-AGGRESSION PACT "9MM GRUDGE" [CD]:

Florida's NON-AGGRESSION PACT follows up GESTICULATE (their debut CD on GPC) with a sound that combines hip hop influenced percussion with their own style of emotive synth-&-snarlcore.

(REC-011) SWAMP TERRORISTS "COMBAT SHOCK" [CD]

On this duo's third CD, they unload a 73 minute batch of tracks packed with sampled guitars, growling vocals, & funky percussion. Imagine a Swiss version of KMFDM. Their first two CD's (GROW-SPEED-INJECTION and

GRIM-STROKE-DISEASE) are avialable on MACHINERY/NOISE, while the domestic label of their new CD, KILLER, is yet to be confirmed.

(REC-011E) SWAMP TERRORISTS "PALE TORMENT" [MCD]:

Import! 3 songs (Pale Torment, Pant to Injure, and the unreleased Rathead), 15 mixes, 76 minutes long!

(REC-012) 16 VOLT "SKIN" [CD]:

This second CD is the perfect follow up to Wisdom. Although the guitars are a bit louder in the mix, the electronic element is still present. Produced by Tony Lash of Heatmiser.

(REC-013) KILLING FLOOR SELF-TITLED [CD]:

Combining a balanced mix of political punk and techno, this SF-based five piece serves up tracks aimed at both the dancefloor and the indie-rock scene. Plenty of samples, clear vocals, catchy guitar hooks, and even a remix by Mark Pistel of CONSOLIDATED.

(REC-014) SMP "STALEMATE [CD] :

Two guys from Seattle sing and scream with hardcore punk styled vocals over a fusillade of scratching, sample loops, organic percussion and the occasional guitar.

(REC-015) CLAY PEOPLE "THE IRON ICON" [MCD]:

On this six song release, they add more of an electronic element to the mix than on Firetribe, resulting in a cyber-metal hybrid. This was co-produced by DIE WARZAU with Burt from FEAR FACTORY contributing guest vocals & SISTER MACHINE GUN's Chris Randall providing editing. The import version will be called "Cringe".

(REC-016) THUGS 'N' KISSES *VARIOUS ARTISTS* [CD]

This compilation features all previously unreleased songs or mixes by CHEMLAB, SKREW, 16 VOLT, HATE DEPT., PENAL

COLONY, KILLING FLOOR, APPARATUS, COLLA DESTRA, VAMPIRE RODENTS w/ SPAHN RANCH, ACUMEN, SMP, SOCIETY BURNING, TINFED, CLAY PEOPLE, DEATH INDUSTRY, PAIN EMISSION.

(REC-017) VAMPIRE RODENTS "CLOCKSEED [CD] :

Distancing themselves from their previous discordance, the RODENTS' opt for smoother, more danceable compositions. Imagine MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO accompanied by a symphony. 18 guest vocalists take part, such as singers from CHEMLAB, 16 VOLT, HATE DEPT., BATTERY, PENAL COLONY...

(REC-018) APPARATUS SELF-TITLED [MCD]:

This North Carolina trio alternates between guitars and electronics so smoothly that neither dominates the mix, while the percussion is a hip hop/industrial hybrid and the vocals cater to the goth crowd and rivetheads alike. This should appeal to fans of CHEMLAB and SISTER MACHINE GUN. Oh yeah, Lee Popa produces one of the tracks.

(REC-019) SOCIETY BURNING "ENTROPY LINGUA" / "TACTIQ" [MCD/CD] :

This Colorado duo combines gut-wrenching vocals with a nice blend of guitars & synths. Because we received so many remixes, courtesy of HATE DEPT., DROWN, IDIOT STARE, ALIEN FAKTOR, & APPARATUS, we're releasing this as the Entropy Lingua MCD. Tactiq, their CD of original songs, will follow soon. Both discs are quite different, so be sure to check each one out.

(REC-020) COLLIDE "BENEATH THE SKIN" [CD]:

This LA due introduces ethereal with an edge; imagine 4AD meets Wax Trax. Their music combines beat-friendly synthwork and

subtle guitars with lush operatic vocals and soothing keyboard fills. Cevin Key (SKINNY PUPPY/DOWNLOAD) and CHRIST ANALOGUE provide remixes on this CD. Licensed to Offbeat for Europe.

(REC-022) 16 VOLT "LETDOWNCRUSH" [CD]:

Critter produced this release, while both William Tucker and BLACK METAL BOX's Marc LaCorte played on it. This CD is their most accessible release to date. Distributed by EMD (EMI Music Distribution) in the U.S. and licensed to Offbeat for Europe.

(MRF-001) ASSIMILATION *VARIOUS ARTISTS* [12"]:

A limited edition vinyl-only 12" with 2 songs each by CHEMLAB, SKREW, DIATRIBE & MALHAVOC. CHEMLAB & DIATRIBE provide exclusive mixes.
